THE delay in the release of salary of some contractual employees at the City Health Office (CHO) is an isolated case and does not reflect a system problem of the entire City Hall, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said Monday.

Duterte-Carpio issued the statement after some employees of the CHO rued the delay in the release of their salaries.

"Pag single office lang gani ang na delay, sa isa ka opisina lang ang naay problema (If the delay is only in a single office, the problem is only within that particular office)," Duterte-Carpio said during Monday's press briefing.

The mayor said she already told officials of CHO before to designate an administrative officer who will manage the payroll of its employees so as to avoid the delay in signing the needed documents.

Asked when the long-awaited salaries will be released, Duterte-Carpio said she cannot give an assurance but she already ordered the City Accounting Office not to accommodate incomplete and incorrect documents.

Duterte-Carpio said all other departments of the City Hall have no problems in dispensing their employees' salaries.

"Incomplete and incorrect documents will not really be processed kay ang Commission on Audit (COA), paspas kaayo maka-gukod sa amoa (because COA will really go after us)," the mayor explained.

"Kung naa na sa ilaha ang problema, wala na sa amoa (If the problem is within them, we’re not part of it)," she said.

None among the officials of the CHO was available for comments as of this posting. (JOP)
