Man charged for kidnapping, gun possession

POLICE filed charges on Monday before the City Prosecution Office against a suspect who kidnapped a 17-year-old girl on July 10.
Charged with kidnapping and violation of Republic Act 8294, otherwise known as Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition, was Hilarion Entero Capute, 31, of Barangay New Carmen in Tugbok District.
Senior Inspector Antonio Villacarlos, chief of Tugbok police identified the victim as Ann (not her real name).
Villacarlos said they received information on the alleged kidnapping at around 8 a.m. in New Carmen on July 14.
They conducted follow up operation, leading to arrest the suspect.
But initial investigation showed the victim was kidnapped on July 10. The victim was fetching water from beside a cliff when the suspect appeared and pointed a gun at the victim.
Villacarlos said they are still waiting for the medical examination result of the victim from the Southern Philippines Medical Center to verify if the victim was sexually abused.
Recovered from the possession of the suspect was a .38 revolver.
The suspect is now detained at Tugbok police. (ICT)
