On Sunday, personnel of the Sta. Ana Police Station arrested Ambo and Inson at Purok 1-B in Barangay 76-A at around 3:35 p.m. after the two suspects handed sachet of suspected shabu (methamphetamine) to a policeman.
Three hours after, the Davao City Police Office's Investigation and Detection Management Branch (DCPO-IDMB) personnel arrested one Cabañeles at a waiting shed near crossing DFC on Lasang at around 6:30 p.m.
Recovered from the possession of Cabañeles were marked P1,000 bill, one big backpack of dried marijuana leaves, another two bundles of dried marijuana leaves weighing one kilo with estimated street value of P12,500.
Senior Inspector Ranulfo A. Cabañog, DCPO-IDMB's case tracker team leader, said they have been monitoring Cabañeles for several weeks.
He added that the source of the drugs came from New Bataan in Compostela Valley. On Monday, the Sta. Ana police arrested Matucol on Padre Faura Street in Barangay 32-D at around 10 a.m., following a report from their informant that the suspect was seen using suspected shabu on the area.
Police said they are still conducting hot pursuit operation against the assistant of Matucol, who remains at large.
Cabañeles is now detained at the DCPO jail facility while Ambo, Inson, and Matucol are detained at Sta. Ana Police Station.
The suspects are facing charges before the City Prosecution Office for a violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as The Comprehensive of Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
