350 magicians to attend confab in September-A A +A

THE 9th Asian Magic Association Convention, which will bring together the world's prominent magicians, will be held in Davao City on September 14-17, 2012.
In a statement, around 350 magicians from around the globe are expected to attend the gathering.
Organizers of the event said they have chosen Davao City as the venue of the convention in the Philippines due to its stable peace and order condition.
The convention is in coordination with the City Government of Davao.
"The convention will bring all magicians from different countries to share magical ideas. It also helps in developing healthy and positive associations with each other, as they also help to promote the cooperative approach in the magic industry," the statement read.
The four-day event will be filled with lectures, competitions, star magic shows, magic jams, among others.
Award-winning guest performers from various countries are expected during the convention, among them are the Philippines' Cris Castro, the only Filipino awardee of the prestigious Merlin Award, and James Infiesto, one of the top illusionists of the country, incorporating the culture of Davao in his performance.
Infiesto is also the convention director.
Ticket prices for reserved seats are P1,000 and P750, while free seating is at P500 and P250.
