Trader shot dead in Maguindanao

COTABATO CITY -- A businessman was shot dead around 6:50 p.m. Sunday in Maguindanao province.
The victim was identified as Datu Sharief Mamadra Mastura, buy and sell trader, resident in the area.
Also wounded in the shooting was Toy Bagundang, who was hit by a stray bullet.
According to Cotabato City Police Director Danny Reyes, the victim was standing near the store of his relative in purok 5, Mother Barangay Bagua when he was shot dead by two unidentified men using caliber .45 pistols.
Mastura, who was hit in the head, died on the spot while the perpetrators immediately fled onboard a Honda XRM 125 motorcycle.
Bagundang, who was hit in the leg, was brought by his relatives to the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center.
Mayor Japal Guiani believes that the shooting could either be a result of personal grudge or part of a redo or clan war.
Police are investigating possible suspects in the crime. (Edgardo Fuerzas)
