DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said the new official chief of the City Hall's Human Resource and Management Office (HRMO) Erwin Alparaque will still be assistant city administrator at the same time.
Speaking in her weekly press briefing at her office Monday, Duterte-Carpio told reporters that she has no intention to open the position of acting city administrator nor will find a replacement for Alparaque.
"Mao na ang iyang gibuhat kaniadto, acting assistant city admin siya tapos nag concurrent siya na HR, so gibaliktad lang namo karon para commensurate ang sweldo sa iyang trabaho (That’s what he did before, he was the acting city administrator and the chief of the HRMO at the same time. So what we did now, we only reverse what we did before)," the mayor said.
Alparaque acted as assistant city administrator for several years already and assumed the post of then HRMO chief Laperacion Arañas-Dapili when the latter retired April last year.
In its regular session last week, the City Council has concurred the appointment of Alparaque as the chief of the HRMO.
The city's legislative department also concurred the mayor's appointment of Dr. Che Pinili as the chief of the City Veterinarians Office.
In an earlier interview, Alparaque said he will try his best to create a culture of dedicated and service-oriented government employees of the City Government.
Among all departments and offices of the City Hall, HRMO is one of the vital units for the success of the City Government mandated to produce workers who will carry out the services and programs that the city. (Jereco O. Paloma)
