Police chief: Nothing vs city cop’s relief-A A +A

SENIOR Superintendent Ronald dela Rosa, Davao City Police Office (DCPO) chief, said they have nothing against the decision of Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio to relieve the commander of San Pedro police.
Duterte-Carpio said San Pedro police chief Antonio E. Rivera no longer met her expectations.
In Friday's Kapihan sa PIA, dela Rosa told reporters that being transferred to different assignment or unit is part of their job as policemen.
"He's not accusing the San Pedro police station na gina-shortcut ang ilang trabaho," dela Rosa said.
Duterte-Carpio ordered dela Rosa on Monday to relieve Rivera for being remiss in his job following the brutal murder of a gym instructor.
The mayor also reminded all DCPO personnel that there is no shortcut to good police work that builds a case against the suspect.
The mayor issued such order after a certain Romar Mercado Salinas, one of the suspects in the robbery-slay of gym instructress Cheryl Gay Grafilo, was found dead at the same place where the victim was murdered.
But dela Rosa said they took the recent incident as a good opportunity to further improve their job.
