KIDAPAWAN CITY -- Police are facing a blank wall as to the motive and identities of the suspects behind the killing on Thursday of a 36-year-old mother and his son in Banisilan, North Cotabato.
Senior Superintendent Roque Alcantara, provincial director of the North Cotabato of the Philippine National Police, identified the victims as Kabiba Apaw, 36, and his son Salahuddin, 3, both residents of Barangay Busaon, Banisilan.
Alcantara said the victims were found lying dead in a creek at Sitio Sili, Barangay Busaon.
A certain Nano Pidong, 27, discovered the victims' bodies while she was washing clothes in the creek, around 330 p.m., Thursday, reports said.
Police hinted the victims were hit by a hard object in the head, which resulted to their instant death.
But even before the police could conduct probe on the killing, the victims were already brought to their house in preparation for the burial in Muslim rites.
Relatives, during initial investigations, told police they have no idea as to the reasons for the killing.
