Man wanted for rape arrested

THE Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Davao del Norte arrested on Tuesday a man wanted for rape at Salisi Street, Barangay Apokon, Tagum City.
Chief Inspector Darwin Rafer, chief of the CIDG-Davao del Norte, identified the suspect as Rey Caballes Canini, 52, a resident of Block 25 Lot 40 Bermudez Plains Subdivision on Salisi Street in Tagum City.
Rafer said the suspect was arrested around 7 a.m. inside their house through two warrants of arrest issued by Judge Virginia D. Tejano-Ang of the Regional Trial Court Branch 1 in Tagum dated August 30, 2012.
Rafer said the suspect was charged with two counts of rape with criminal case number 18407 and 18406.
The warrant did not recommend any bail.
Senior Superintendent Alberto Ignatius D. Ferro, CIDG regional director, said the suspect was brought to their office around 8:30 a.m. for documentation and is now detained at CIDG in Davao del Norte while waiting for the issuance of his commitment order.
