Prosecutor’s office still to act on snatching case vs soldier

THE Davao City Prosecution Office (CPO) is yet to resolve the cases filed against a soldier arrested for snatching the bag of a woman on Monday.
Thus, accused Michael Evangelio Patria, 24, a member of the Army's 37th Infantry Battalion based in Buldon, Maguindanao Province, meanwhile is preparing his bail.
Authorities filed concealment of deadly weapon and robbery cases against Patria based on the complaint of two women who asked not to be named for their own safety.
The suspect reportedly grabbed the women’s bag along F. Torres street.
The incident was witnessed by a member of the Civilian Volunteer Organization.
Patria is now detained at the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) following his arrest in Barrio Obrero, Davao City around 11 p.m.
The witness said the suspect was apparently following the woman on his motorcycle, while the woman was walking with a friend.
Police recovered the victim's personal belongings inside the utility box of the suspect's motorcycle.
