Sara’s Soca postponed

DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio will not deliver her last state of the city address (Soca) supposedly set today, Tuesday, because she is not feeling well.
She made a last-minute postponement on her Soca that will serve as her report to Dabawenyos as it outlines her administration’s achievement in the past year, the mayor’s chief of staff Lemuel Ortonio, said during Monday's flag ceremony at the City Hall.
The mayor is in her first trimester of pregnancy.
There is still no definite date for the mayor's third Soca, Ortonio said.
When the city mayor confirmed her pregnancy two weeks ago, she said her physician advised her not to be stressed and to refrain from physical activities that might strain her and her baby.
Narcisa Barcelo, local legislative officer of the Sangguniang Panlungsod in an interview told Sun.Star Davao that they only got the last-minute change yesterday morning from a staff at the City Administrator's Office.
"Nanawag dayon sila diri para ma-ingnan pud namo tanan mga konsehal (They immediately called the office for us to inform all the councilors)," Barcelo said.
Barcelo said a certain Mary Resma, a staff of acting City Administrator Zuleika Lopez told her over the phone that the date of the mayor's Soca will be announced later.
Two weeks ago, Duterte-Carpio said all have been set for her third Soca where she will highlight the achievements and accomplishments of all City Hall during the previous year.
Duterte-Carpio said among the things she will highlight on her third Soca will be the top performing departments and the city mayor's office accomplishments, among others.
Traditionally, the mayor will endorse, through the Soca, the proposed budget for next year to the city's legislative department.
The mayor said just like her second Soca, her last Soca will only be around three to four pages and will take less than 30 minutes.
