Real estate broker seeks mayoral post

A 55-YEAR-OLD man is the first candidate to file a certificate of candidacy (COC) on Tuesday for the mayoral post.
Rodrigo Solamin, a real estate broker, filed his COC around 10:43 a.m. Tuesday.
"Akong tumong mapalambo kining economy. Atong economy ato gyud dapat ipalambo (My aim is to develop our economy. Our economy should grow)," he said.
Solamin said this is his third attempt to run for the position, adding that he is certain that Davao City would be more booming in all terms during his stint although he does not have any political background.
Solamin has two children, one of whom is a nursing graduate while the other is an education student.
"Akong kinabuhi naka-destiny na gyud pagka-mayor (My life is destined to be a mayor)," Solamin said.
"Ang atong destiny once naka program na, dapat tumanon gyud nato (Once our destiny is already programmed, we should follow it)," he added.
The filing of COC started Monday and will end at 5 p.m. of October 5.
