KIDAPAWAN CITY -- With more than 2,000 supporters on board different vehicles, Governor Esmael "Toto" Mangudadatu filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for his reelection bid in Maguindanao at the provincial election office in Cotabato City around 10 a.m. Friday.

Mangudadatu is running under the Liberal Party.

He, along with 200 vehicles, passed the Ampatuan-Shariff Aguak highway in Maguindanao, the place where his wife, Genalyn, and 57 others were massacred, some three years ago.

Mangudadatu’s caravan caused heavy traffic along Juliano Avenue, a police official in Cotabato City said.

The governor, in an interview, has apologized for the heavy traffic caused by his COC filing. He, however, was overwhelmed by the support of friends, relatives, and constituents.

With him was Datu Lester Sinsuat of the Datu Odin Sinsuat town as his runningmate.

He was also joined by his complete line-up of provincial board members from two legislative districts in Maguindanao. (MCM)
