Approval of land use plan deferred
Tuesday, June 18, 2013 - 11:19 p.m.THE Davao City Council deferred the approval of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (Clup) on second reading on Tuesday since the number of members present did not reach the exact count of votes needed.
The local lawmaking body needed 21 members to vote on the proposed Clup, but there were only 19 of them present in the plenary around 5 p.m., thus the move to defer the item to the next regular session.
2 killed, 3 hurt in North Cotabato clashes

Senior Inspector Ronnie Cordero, chief of Tulunan police, identified one of the fatalities as Dondon Palomo, one of the members of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) of Maybula and an employee of a banana plantation in the village.
Teener dies, 4 hurt in Sultan Kudarat grenade blast

Senior Inspector Emerson Policarpio, chief of Lambayong police, identified the slain victim as Muad Ambolodto, 14, of Purok Libertad in Barangay Madanding, Lambayong.

Duterte tells NPA: Release kidnapped soldiers

Shrine Hills now a protected zone

Idis policy advocacy specialist Chinkie Pelino lauded the move as a "strong exercise of political will" as the City Council in a special session last Thursday moved to declare Shrine Hills as an Urban Ecological Enhancement Sub-zone.

Bizmen want BIR policy on unused ORs modified

291 gun ban violators arrested in region 11

Based on the latest data released by PRO, a total of 171 firearms were also confiscated in the region during the period with 134 cases filed on court.
10,000 city workers to lose jobs

Studes urge resumption of classes in USM

The Initiating Committee on Students' Concerns (ICSC), in a manifesto, urged the Board of Regents, the Commission on Higher Education, and the local governments to give immediate attention and intervene to the problems in the USM that curtailed their right to education.
