A WOMAN allegedly stabbed her husband after the latter mauled the man she was with inside Room 210 of Aveflor Inn on C.M. Recto Avenue in Davao City on Friday.

Chief Inspector Eliseo Malana Jr., of the San Pedro Police Station, identified the victim as Junson Aporbo Berganio, 44, taxi driver, while the suspect was identified as Pacita Sardido Berganio, 42, both residents of Crossing Bayabas, Piedad, Toril.

The man whom Pacita was with is allegedly the former's lover identified as Leo Quich David, 65, retired doctor, from Aries Street in Toril.

Malana said the incident happened around 2:10 p.m. after the victim followed David to the inn.

Junson, in his statement, said he was looking for his wife on Thursday after she left their house without permission. He admitted he had a confrontation with Pacita the night before she left the house.

He said he was driving his taxi on Friday and recognized his passenger to be David, whom he suspected to be his wife's lover. When David alighted at Aveflor Inn, Junson followed him to the inn.

He asked the front desk personnel for the room number of David. He proceeded to the room and was surprised to see his wife embracing David.

Junson attacked David with a knife but the latter was able to grapple with the knife. Pacita took a knife and stabbed his husband.

The victim, who sustained to a lone stabbed wound in the chest, was brought to Southern Philippines Medical Center, while David was brought to Davao Doctor's Hospital for multiple bruises.

Pacita and David both refused to be interviewed by reporters without the presence of their lawyer. Both of them are now detained at San Pedro Police station awaiting the filing of complaint by the victim.
