THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Davao Region filed charges on Thursday before the City Prosecution Office against a woman and her son arrested in a drug buy-bust operation.
Emerson Rosales, PDEA regional director, identified the suspects as Salaga Kam Watamama, 40, a farmer, and her son Robin Indal Watamama, 18, both residents of Cotabato City.
Rosales said the suspects were charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
He said the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation with the Buhangin police personnel on Cabantian Road in Davao City at around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Recovered from the possession of the suspects were worth suspected shabu, amounting to P125,000, 124 pieces P1,000 boodle cash and an original P1,000 marked money.
Noli Nephi D. Dimaandal, PDEA regional spokesperson, said the suspects were placed under surveillance for two months before they were arrested.
"Most probably gikan sa Cotabato City ang mga illegal drugs na ginadala nila diri sa Davao. Gusto man nato sila istoryahun but we are having difficulty in understanding their language," Dimaandal said.
Dimaandal said the suspects are now detained at the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) jail facility. (Ivy C. Tejano)
