2 fishermen rescued at sea

TWO fishermen were rescued after their motorized banca capsized at the Davao Gulf last Tuesday.
The victims were identified as Muskilan Sakilan, 57, and his grandson Sam Sakilan, 17, both residents of purok Mahayahay, Apo Beach, Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.
Both victims were found at 6 a.m. Friday off on the high seas of Pantukan, Compostela Valley Province.
The two were spotted by Salen Sayron and Joel Sayron, both members of the Bantay Dagat in the area.
The brothers said they saw the victims waiving their hands and shouting for help.
The two were brought to the Compostela Valley Provincial Hospital in Pantukan.
Rhona Siojo of the Municipal Social Welfare Office and Napoleon Cuajao of the Municipal Disaster Risk and Reduction and Management Council also assisted the two victims.
Sta. Cruz Vice Mayor Alejandro Almendras Jr. also coordinated with the local government of Pantukan for the transfer of the victims.
The two said they went out to sea Tibanban, Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental on Tuesday when huge waves capsized their boat. (AD/Michael Manguhig of Radyo Pantukan)
