THE University of Mindanao-Institute of Popular Opinion (UM-IPO) on Monday announced it will conduct a series of research studies in 2013, starting with a study on the Dabawenyos' concept and perception about love.
Adrian Tamayo, UM-IPO's specialist on economics, government, and political issues, said at least four studies have been lined up for the whole year depending on important events that have social implications.
Among the topics that the UM-IPO will be running researches on include the Dabawenyos' concept and perception about love, access to social services, understanding on social issues, and topics about the upcoming 2013 elections.
First leg of UM-IPO's researches will start in February, in time for the Valentine's Day.
Tamayo said UM-IPO will undertake various topics that affect the lives of ordinary Dabawenyos in particular.
With the 2013 midterm elections just a few months away, Tamayo said, UM-IPO won't miss this occasion to conduct studies on the dynamics of the Dabawenyo voters.
"We will be doing synopsis on how the people (in Davao City) vote," Tamayo said.
The synopsis of Dabawenyo voters will be conducted after the elections in May.
UM-IPO is a research wing of UM which was organized in March 2012 to run studies on various issues with significant social impact.
