KIDAPAWAN CITY -- Authorities arrested in Digos City one of the suspects in the killing of a police officer in Antipas, North Cotabato four years ago.
Inspector Felix Fornan, chief of the Antipas Municipal Police Station, identified the suspect as Ricardo Ereola, who was arrested in a remote village in Digos City around 7 a.m. Thursday.
Fornan said the accused went into hiding at Purok Talisay in Barangay Kayagod, Digos City, after killing SPO1 Ronie Badua, former police officer assigned in Antipas town.
Ereola, records showed, is among the most wanted persons in North Cotabato.
When Fornan was given information about Ereola's location, they immediately coordinated with the Digos City Police Office to effect the arrest of the accused.
Ereola was apprehended based on the warrant issued in 2008 by Judge Rogelio Naresma of the Regional Trial Court Branch 23 in Kidapawan City.
Fornan and his men turned over to court the accused for the commitment order, on Friday.
Ereola was the second most wanted person arrested in North Cotabato since last week.
