A YOUNG man is facing charges before the Regional Trial Court (RTC) for allegedly robbing his neighbor's house.
Charged with robbery is Jhonald E. Tumanda, of Matina Gravahanin Davao City.
Prosecutor Victoriano M. Bello Jr. found probable cause to charge the accused based on the affidavit/complaint filed by Evangeline Nazario, neighbor of the accused.
Recovered from the house of the accused were one Adi brand guitar worth P7,000; portable gasoline stove worth P400; assorted pairs of short and long pants worth P5,000, and a men's wrist watch worth P3,500.
Also recovered in a vacant lot near the house of the complainant were a portable speaker worth P2,000; computer set worth P22,000; DVD player worth P1,500; and electric fan worth P500.
Court records showed that around 5:40 p.m. on January 1, Evangeline's daughter, Danna was on her way home when she met Tumanda on the street carrying a computer monitor. But the witness just ignored the accused.
When Danna arrived home, she was informed that a man broke into their house. It was then that she realized the computer monitor carried by the accused is hers thus, she and her mother chased after Tumanda, who already left the place.
This prompted Evangeline and Danna to seek for police assistance, thus the arrest of the accused, who is presently detained at the Talomo police station.
Bail recommended for his temporary liberty is P24,000.
