POLICE arrested on Wednesday two wanted persons during manhunt operations in Barangay Miranda of Babak District in Island Garden City of Samal.
Superintendent Roland Agohob, chief of the Samal Police Station, identified the two suspects as Leo Llanes, a fisherman, and Danilo D. Dalaygon, 47, a businessman, all residents of Samal in Davao del Norte.
Personnel of the Samal Police Station, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU) in Davao Region, and Task Force Samal (TFS) conducted a simultaneous manhunt operation based on their warrants of arrest.
Agohob, in a phone interview, said the authorities first arrested Llanes at around 6:45 a.m. for violation of the Republic Act 855, otherwise known as the Philippine Fisheries Code of 1998.
Dalaygon, on the other hand, was arrested at around 9:30 a.m. for violation of the Presidential Decree 1602 or The Illegal Gambling.
Agohob said both warrant of arrests were issued by Judge Oscar S. Aquino of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities of Babak in Samal.
"After we had confirmed from the concerned citizens there (Babak) na naroroon nga sila, that was the time we deployed our men along the other police agencies," Agohob said.
Agohob said authorities have been conducting surveillance for almost one year so as to locate the whereabouts of the suspects, who happened to be in one place.
The two suspects are now detained at the Samal Police Station. (ICT)
