THE 11th Musikahan sa Tagum 2013 is set to assist the full recovery of communities that were hit by Typhoon “Pablo” in Davao Region, a city tourism officer said.
Alma Uy, Tagum City tourism officer, said this year's festival will focus on fund raising intended for relief assistance and rehabilitation of the affected communities.
Uy said expected to come in the said event, which is slated from February 19 to 24, are businessmen, private companies, performing artists, and various groups.
She said this year's event also aims to uplift the morale of the affected families through musical entertainment under the festival's component dubbed as "Arts for Therapy."
Uy said the City Government of Tagum is pleased with the response of different companies, groups, and individuals who pledged to donate in a bid to raise enough funds for their rehabilitation drive.
“At this early, several companies and groups have already signified their interests in supporting our advocacy," Uy said.
She added a certain telecommunication company pledged to invite national performers from Manila for an entertainment night, where the company will also sell its products and all the proceeds will be donated to the city's initiatives.
Uy added an international group, Bangkok's Sunrise String Orchestra, is set to hold a celebratory concert also for the city's fund raising activity.
