1 killed, 1 hurt in car accident-A A +A

A MAN was killed while another was injured in a vehicular accident at the corner of Gulf View Subdivision and McArthur Highway in Bago Aplaya Saturday.
Killed in the accident was one Raffy Tuando Pandes, 22, single, driver of the black Sym motorcycle with no plate number and a resident of Sitio Pagel Sirawan, Toril, while injured was one Mary Jane Rasay, 16, a resident of Kadato, Saint Jude, Toril.
Pandes was killed while Rasay was injured after their motorcycle collided with a Mabuhay taxi unit with plate number LXA462.
The taxi driver was identified as Eugenio Robin Ranquin, 44 and a resident of Int 77 beside Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) Matina Campus.
Based on the initial investigation conducted by Senior Police Officer 2 (SPO2) Jill R. Trinidad of Talomo police station, Rasay were on their to downtown coming from Toril while Ranquin was heading toward Gulf View Subdivision.
While Ranquin was making a left turn toward the subdivision, Pandes was not able to apply brakes, which resulted in their collision on the right side of the taxi.
Rasay and Pandes were brought to the Saint Felix Hospital but the latter was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Rasay was transferred the Southern Philippines Medical Center for further treatment, while Pandes was brought to Villa Funeral Homes.
Ranquin is now in the custody of Talomo police along with the vehicles involved in the incident.
