DAVAO City Representative Mylene Garcia (2nd district) said she will never go after Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod members who will not support her candidacy in the May 13 elections.
In an interview at the sidelines of the celebration of Chinese New Year at the Davao Central High School, Garcia said she is leaving it to Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to remind them about their loyalty to Hugpong party.
"Si vice mayor naman nag sulti kung unsa daw mahitabo anang mga Hugpong members na dili musuporta sa ilang kauban sa Hugpong (The vice mayor had already spoken on what will happen to Hugpong members who will not support their partymates)," said Garcia, who is seeking reelection.
Duterte earlier issued a stern warning against Hugpong members who will not support Garcia's candidacy in the coming polls.
"Members of Hugpong, if you don't support Mylene Garcia, we just have to part ways," Duterte said in his television program "Gikan sa Pasa, Para sa Masa."
In a separate interview, Councilor Paolo Duterte said it's about time to impose loyalty check among members of Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod.
The young Duterte reminded members of Hugpong that if they do not want to support their partymate, then they might as well leave.
"Dili lang ko mag istorya sa karon. Makita man gyud na tanan. Makita mo man kung kinsa ang tinuod na Hugpong ug kinsa ang dili (I just do not want to speak now. We can all see what's happening. You can really see who is a true Hugpong and those who are not)," Garcia said.
Based on the official website of the Commission of Elections, Garcia is among the official candidates for Davao City second district representative position.
Other candidates are Joji Ilagan-Bian, Uly Lopez and Jenell Nagayo, who are all running as independent. (ANC)
