Lady loses P700,000 in Lanang holdup

SOME P698,320 cash intended for the salary of employees were carted away by robbers from an accounting assistant in front of the Global Connect Call Center in Lanang Davao City Monday.
The victim was identified as one Janice Villaflor Buhisan, a 30-year-old accounting assistant of the said company, married and a resident of Barangay Crossing Bayabas, Toril.
Based on the initial investigation conducted by Sta. Ana Police, the victim arrived at their office around noon and upon disembarking from a taxi, two unidentified suspects stood beside her and one of them pulled out an undetermined caliber of handgun and declared holdup.
Buhisan was forced to hand to the suspects the money for the salary of employees, her wallet containing P2,000 and her mobile phone for fear of her life. The suspects then fled to an unknown direction aboard a motorcycle.
The victim proceeded to the Investigation and Detection Management Branch (IDMB) of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) to report the incident.
Further investigation revealed that two witnesses, who refused to reveal their names, identified the suspects as one Fidel Flores and Mark Anthony Sumagaysay.
Sta. Ana police is now conducting follow up investigation for the possible apprehension of the suspects and the recovery of stolen items. (Ruji Peter S. Abat)
