6.2 magnitude quake rocks Davao Sur

A 6.2-MAGNITUDE earthquake rocked Davao del Sur Saturday afternoon, according to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
Based on the Phivolcs' latest earthquake bulletin issued at 1:07 p.m., the epicenter was recorded about 30 kilometers northeast of Sarangani in Davao del Sur.
The state seismologist said the quake was tectonic in origin with a depth of about 100 kilometers.
Intensity 4 was felt in Mati City and Taragona in Davao Oriental, intensity 3 in Davao City, and intensity 2 in General Santos City, Butuan City, Malaybalay, and Bukidnon.
A 2.9 magnitude with a depth of 39 kilometers also jolted Eastern Samar the same day at 6:02 a.m. Its epicenter was recorded northeast of Borongan town.
Two aftershocks occurred in Hinatuan in Surigao del Sur at 1:44 p.m. and Sarangani in Davao del Sur at 2:17 p.m.
On February 15, two tremors were recorded in Surigao del Sur and Negros Occidental.
No damage was recorded.
