POLICE have yet to file charges before the City Prosecution Office against a man who allegedly hacked to death a farmer on February 12.
The slain victim was identified as Roland Antaran Dayag, 31, of Barangay Lampiano in Calinan, Davao City.
Senior Inspector Jack Leon Tilcag, chief of Calinan police, identified the suspect as Victoriano Carillo Albiso, a resident of the same place.
The suspect surrendered to barangay chief Nestor Mutya, after he learned that the victim died.
He was endorsed to Calinan police by councilman Modesto Albiso, who is his relative, on February 13.
Tilcag said though the suspect already surrendered and detained in their station, they have yet to wait for the family of the victim to file appropriate charges against him.
It can be recalled that the victim and the suspect engaged in a fight on Tuesday. The suspect left, and after few minutes, he went back to the house of the victim and hacked him on the neck.
The suspect fled to unknown direction while the victim was brought to Southern Philippines Medical Center where he was declared dead upon arrival by attending physicians. (Ivy C. Tejano)
