Fire hits house of Air Force officer

SOME P2-million worth of property was damaged in a fire that hit a house of a Philippine Air Force (PAF) officer and a civilian in Air Men's Village, Km. 11, Sasa, Davao City, on Sunday.
The victims were identified as one Randy Gokotano, a member of the PAF, and one John Callano.
Police Officer 1 (PO1) Cloudette Luis of the Sasa Police Station said the fire started at the house of Gokotano and quickly spread to the house of Callano.
The house of Gokotano was razed while his Mitsubishi Lancer, Suzuki Samurai and Toyota Land Cruiser were also destroyed. The house of Callano, meanwhile, was just damaged.
Senior Fire Officer 3 (SFO3) Silvestre Lapinig of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Panacan, meanwhile, said the cause of the fire was an unattended washing machine believed to have been left plugged in for hours.
Based on the estimate of Lapinig, the damage caused by the fire is around P2 million.
