1 killed, 3 hurt in 6-vehicle smashup

ONE person was killed while three others were hurt in a deadly six-vehicle smashup along the Diversion Road, NHA Buhangin, Tuesday afternoon.
The crash killed Julius Canillo, who was driving a public utility vehicle Mitsubishi Multicab with plate number LWZ-399.
His passengers, Elmer Guitguit and Elizabeth Lumapas, were hurt during the accident and were brought to the Southern Philippines Medical Center.
All the victims were pinned when a speeding Metro Shuttle Bus with plate number LWZ-110 hit the Multicab and four other vehicles.
The bus driver, Jolly Detomal, of 56 Magsaysay Avenue, Cuambog, Mabini, Compostela Valley Province, immediately surrendered and is now detained at the Buhangin Police Station.
Based on the investigation of the traffic section of the Buhangin Police Station, the Metro Shuttle Bus lost its break and hit another Multicar with plate number MCS-795 first.
The driver of the Multicab, Tony Asis, of Gensanville, Barangay Bula, General Santos City, was also injured in the incident.
The wayward Metro Shuttle Bus also hit a Besta Van, a Mitsubishi car and a Bachelor bus. (AD)
