A TWO-FEET baby crocodile was discovered by a resident in a pond Wednesday evening in Barangay San Antonio, Agdao District, Davao City.

San Antonio village chief Roge Galido told Sun.Star Superbalita that the baby crocodile was discovered by Ronie Brigente, of Freedom Village in Barangay San Antonio around 10 p.m. while he was tending to his domesticated hogs.

He said Brigente immediately called his attention when he sighted the hatchling crocodile.

The crocodile was believed drifted to the pond due to the severe flooding caused by the heavy rains recently.

With the sighting of a crocodile in the pond of more than a hectare, residents of nearby community are suspecting that there could be more thriving there.

"Nahadlok mi. Buaya gud na. Wala ta mahibalo basin naa pa ni kauban diha (We're afraid. It's crocodile. We don't know there could be more there)," Dora Asma, a resident, told Sun.Star SuperBalita.

The baby crocodile was transported to Davao Crocodile Park Friday afternoon. (JC/AD)
