Man nabbed for attempt to steal bike

POLICE arrested a man accused of trying to steal a motorcycle at St. Felix Hospital, Bago Aplaya Davao City on Thursday.
The suspect was identified as Jaylord Chavez, a resident of Bohol Avenue, Toril while the complainant was identified as Reggy Ponce Catayoc, 25, a resident of Centro Bago Gallera.
The suspect was nabbed with the help of Lauro dela Cerna, a 30-year-old utility man of the hospital and a resident of San Jose, Daliao, Toril.
Based on the initial investigation conducted by Talomo police, dela Cerna was on duty when he noticed the suspect moving suspiciously in the parking lot. Later on, dela Cerna saw the Chavez walking away a blue Honda Wave with plate number 6777IJ.
He then noticed Chavez apparently trying to switch on the motorcycle using a coin but failed.
That was when dela Cerna approached.
Chavez tried to escape but was held by some bystanders.
The suspect is now detained at the Talomo Police Station and is facing raps for violation of the Republic Act 6539 otherwise known as the Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972. (Ruji Peter S. Abat)
