CHARGES have been filed against a 40-year-old man suspected to be a notorious drug pusher in Piapi along Quezon Boulevard who was arrested in a buy-bust operation.
SPO3 Jeffrey Bangcas, care tracker of Davao City Police Office Investigation and Detection Management Branch (DCPO-IDMB), identified the suspect as one Romel Guadamor Hondras, of Barangay 21-C at Piapi Boulevard in Davao City.
Bangcas said the suspect was brought before the prosecutor’s office around 9 a.m. Saturday for inquest proceedings.
Recovered from the suspect were one medium sized plastic sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, P500 marked money, another two medium plastic sachets of suspected shabu, and small heat-sealed sachet of suspected shabu with a street value of P6,000.
The authorities also recovered one aluminum foil strip, two pieces improvised aluminum foil tooter, one improvised plastic straw dipper, six pieces medium plastics with traces of a drug residue, two pieces disposable lighters with an improvised aluminum needle, and black plastic case of VHS tape.
Bangcas said the suspect was charged for violation of Section 5 (Sales of Dangerous Drugs) in relation to Section 12 (Possession of a Paraphernalia for Dangerous Drugs), and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of the Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act 0f 2002.
He said the suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation at Piapi Boulevard, following the reports of their informant about the illegal activities of the suspect.
The suspect is now detained at the DCPO jail facility, while the seized suspected drugs and paraphernalia were already at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory 11 for examination.
Bangcas said though the Oplan Tokhang/Takhang (Toktok/Tapok, Hangyo) is implemented, their other operations against drugs are still consistent so as to arrest those who would continue defying the law.
