Schools top Sayawan sa Da'n 2013

THE Bolton Elementary School and Sta. Ana National High School bagged P50,000 each and a trophy for winning the Sayawan Sa Da'n competition Friday morning.
Sayawan Sa Da'n is a competition of contemporary street dancing and merriment in celebration of the Dabawenyo's positive spirit and oneness.
This year's participants were divided into two categories—the senior (high school) and junior (elementary).
Don Julian Elementary School and Kapitan Tomas Monteverde Senior Elementary School placed second and third, respectively, in the junior category.
For senior category, Barangay 37-D Youth Organization ranked second, while Quezon All-Stars was the third placer.
Second placers received P40,000 and a trophy, and P30,000 plus a trophy for 3rd place.
Cesario Villa-Abrille Elementary School for junior category, and Royal Birds and Blue Dragon Shakers in senior category received P10,000 each as consolation prizes.
The best production design was awarded to Don Julian Elementary School for junior category and Barangay 37-D Youth Organization for senior group, receiving P10,000 each.
Also, choreographers of champion groups received Nokia X101 cellular phones from Sun Cellular.
The criteria for judging were showdown competition (70 percent) and street performance (30 percent).
