Teener sued for trying to kill another

CHARGES have been filed before the Davao City Prosecutor's Office (CPO) against a teenager for trying to kill a 15-year-old boy.

PO1 Richie Chua, of Sasa police, identified the suspect as Reynaldo Morales, alias Aldoy, 18, of Ocean View in Barangay Ilang, Davao City.

The victim was identified as April Pacoelos dela Torre, of Kilometer 13 in Panacan, Davao City.

The suspect was charged with frustrated murder of the Revised Penal Code in relation to the Republic Act 7610 or The Anti-Child Abuse.

A source, who refused to be named for lack of authority to speak, said the accused was brought before the prosecution office on Monday morning for inquest proceedings.

Records from the Sasa police showed that Morales was arrested at Kilometer 13 around 7 p.m. of March 8 following a manhunt operation.

Based on the initial investigation conducted by Chua, the victim was waiting for arrival of his father at a carwash station in the area when the suspect appeared and without any reason stabbed the victim.

According to Dela Torre, he did not know Morales. He said the suspect just appeared in front of him, pulled something from his body and stabbed him. Before the suspect could attack him again, he immediately ran and sought for assistance from a passerby.

The victim, who sustained a lone stabbed wound on the left side of his nape, was brought to Southern Philippines Medical Center, while the suspect fled to Panacan.

Personnel of Sasa police immediately launched a manhunt operation that resulted to the arrest of the suspect, who is now detained at Sasa police station.
