6 youths nabbed in 2 buy-busts

SIX young individuals were arrested in two buy-bust operation in Davao City on Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
The six were identified as Magenda Rufando Saumay, 26, native of Agusan del Sur; Ronalyn Ricardo Bacquial, 20, of Davao City; Jaliah Pusaca Maniri, 18, of Marawi City; Marco Polo Manlaya Tabuclin, 19; Ana Marie Rosal Tantuan, 19; and Flourida Geticianos Tandura, 22, of Davao City.
Police first arrested Saumay and Bacquial in a buy-bust operation at Room 07 of Victoria’s Inn at Bonguyan in Matina Aplaya in Davao City on Tuesday at around 8:30 a.m., following the report of a concerned citizen.
Recovered from the possession of Saumay and Bacquial were a tea bag-sized sachet of suspected shabu, a fake P500 bill, and newspapers cut into money bill sizes, and drug paraphernalia.
Senior Police Officer 3 Jeffrey Bangcas, case tracker of Davao City Police Office (DCPO), said the suspects are now detained at their jail facility for documentation and proper disposition, while those suspected drugs seized from them were submitted before the PNP Crime Laboratory.
Meanwhile, the other four suspects were arrested at Room 105 in a hotel along Cabaguio Avenue this city yesterday around 1:15 a.m. Personnel of the Sta. Ana Police Station and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested Maniri, Tabuclin, Tantuan, and Tandura.
Superintendent Caezar Cabuhat, chief of the Sta. Ana police station, said only Maniri was supposed to be arrested but when the authorities saw the other three individuals having a drug session and transaction inside, all were arrested.
Recovered from the possession of Maniri, Tabuclin, Tantuan, and Tandura were small sachet of suspected shabu, two big sachets of suspected shabu, one disposable lighter, improvised glass tube tooter with traces of suspected shabu, and P500 marked money.
The four suspects are now detained at the Sta. Ana Police Station. The six suspects are now facing charges for Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Ivy C. Tejano)
