War vs drugs intensified during Holy Week: PDEA
-A A +AFriday, March 22, 2013
THE Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Davao Region said on Wednesday it will continue to monitor the proliferation of illegal drugs in Davao Region even during the Holy Week.
Emerson Rosales, PDEA regional chief, said there will be no holidays for anti-drugs agents on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday just to track down drug peddlers.
Rosales said they will exert "double effort" especially during holidays when tourist arrivals increase.
"Mataas yung threat and opportunity ng drugs transaction tuwing holiday," Rosales said during the I-Speak Forum on Thursday at the City Hall conference room.
