REWARDS are waiting for some 800 barangay police who volunteered their time and service as reinforcement to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte said.
“Tagaan nako sila ug bonus karon paghuman gyud sa atong selebrasyon. Hinaot unta nga ug makadakop mo ug snatcher, holdaper, naa koy bonus nga dyes mil ug nabukbok, baynte mil (I will give them a bonus after this celebration. Those who were able to arrest a hold-upper will get P10,000 and those who broke up a fight, P20,000),” Duterte said in a television interview.
“Mag gikan na sa akong kaugalingong bulsa, dili sa gobyerno (That will come from my own pocket, not the government’s),” he added.
At least 20 barangay policemen each from 40 villages in Poblacion District volunteered to help the DCPO in safeguarding the city during the main events of Kadayawan sa Dabaw.
DCPO chief Senior Superintendent Ronald Dela Rosa said the concentration of the barangay police was anti-terrorism and anti-criminality (pickpockets and sexual advances).
Duterte thanked the barangay police for their effort during Indak-indak sa Kadalanan and Pamulak Kadayawan.
“Nagpasalamat ta ug muhatag pud kog pasalamat sa ila (I am thankful and I will give thanks to them),” he said. (ANC)
