A BUSINESSMAN was shot dead by an unidentified gunman on Luzville Main Road in Panacan, Davao City on Tuesday evening.
Police identified the victim as Andres Hinayon Vallespin, 34, a resident of Block 8 Lot 2 Luzville Subdivision in Panacan.
Record from the Sasa Police Station showed that the victim was about to enter the gate of a house at Block 2 Lot 24 when an unidentified man approached and shot him.
According to some witnesses, the victim tried to run for safety but he fell to the canal where the gunman finished him off.
The victim succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in his head while the suspect boarded on a getaway motorcycle. The suspect headed towards the national highway.
The gunman was described as 5'3” tall and slim built, wearing white t-shirt, black and brown cargo pants and violet ball cap while the driver of the motorcycle was wearing black jacket and black helmet.
Recovered from the crime scene were two empty shells from a caliber .45 pistol.
The victim’s body was brought to Saint Peter Funeral Homes for autopsy.
The police are still conducting investigation as to the identities and whereabouts of the suspects.
Record from the Davao City Police Office's Investigations and Detection Management Branch showed there are already 23 deaths from shooting incidents just between last month and yesterday: 17 in July and six this month.
