Police have remained clueless in the killing of a woman outside the Matina Aplaya Elementary School in Matina Aplaya, Davao City last Saturday afternoon.
Roselle Balo, 24, of NHA Bangkal, was gunned down while she fetched her daughter from the school.
Talomo Police Station Chief Julius E. Silagan, in an interview, said they believe the suspect has something to do with victim's concerns against alleged illegal recruiters in the city, who victimized her husband.
Silagan said the victim's husband failed to go abroad after he was swindled. The victim, who had identified the illegal recruiters, had been assisting authorities in the investigation of her husband's case.
It was also learned that the victim even tagged the illegal recruiters on Facebook and that there was an argument that ensued thru texts.
"This, after we have read the exchanged conversations of the victim (Balo) to a certain woman tagged as illegal recruiter in a text messages. Malinaw na nagtatalo sila," Silagan said.
Silagan, however, refused to name the alleged recruiter, as said recruiter is subject for validation and investigation. He added that they don't also have enough evidence, which will prove the involvement of the recruiter on Balo's death.
"As of now, we are still identifying the mastermind of the incident and the gunman, who did the dirty work. Kutob pa lang ta ani sa prospect, wala pa tay na identify jud nga kana na sya ang mi-patay," Silagan said.
Talomo police records showed that the victim and her daughter were on their way home after attending a school activity when a gunshot was fired from nowhere and hit the victim around 3:55 p.m.
