THREE persons were charged before the City Prosecutor's Office (CPO) on Friday after they were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Doña Manuela in Daliao, Toril, Davao City Wednesday.
Charged with violation of the Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, were 34-year-old Emmanual Ismael Monton, a laborer; his sister Irene, and Mary Jane Gabonada Gonzaga, 24.
The three were charged after they were arrested by operatives of Toril police who implemented the search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge Pelagio Paguican.
Police Officer 3 (PO3) Bernardo Tabora Flauta, in his affidavit, said he was accompanied by Toril police chief Angel Sumagaysay around 10:30 p.m. of Wednesday to conduct the operation at the residence of Monton.
Flauta said he presented a copy of the search warrant to Irene and restrained her. Eman and Gonzaga were also arrested while smoking shabu in a room, Flauta added.
Police recovered four small-sized heat sealed plastic sachet containing shabu, one sachet containing 17 small plastic sachets of shabu, one plastic sachet containing dried marijuana, and assorted drug paraphernalia.
The three suspects are now in the custody of the Toril police, while the confiscated drugs and paraphernalia were submitted to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory and will be used as evidence against the suspects in court.
