3 men tagged in slay of truck driver sued-A A +A

CHARGES were filed before the City Prosecutor's Office against three suspects who allegedly killed a man in a shooting incident in front of a posh subdivision in Ma-a, Davao City Wednesday.
Facing murder charges are Feliciano Alcain Bacus, 42; his younger brother Efren, 33, and their cousin Ernesto. The three were charged for allegedly killing Edgardo Manga Ocampo, a 49-year-old truck driver and a transient resident of Kasilak, Bucana.
The three were arrested at their house after a witness tipped the authorities.
The suspects are also facing charges for illegal possession of firearms and explosives after authorities recovered one caliber .45 Remington Rand pistol with magazine containing seven bullets, two magazines of caliber .45 pistol with a 12 bullets, one caliber .38 revolver with six bullets and one fragmentation grenade.
Investigation conducted by Talomo police showed that the incident happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday. The victim was onboard his Honda RS XRM motorcycle coming from Buhangin when two motorcycles with two men each fired at him.
Ocampo tried to run on foot but the suspects finished him off.
Scene of the Crime Operatives responded in the scene and recovered four empty shells and one deformed slug of caliber .45 pistol.
Talomo police, meanwhile, conducted a follow up operation wherein they spotted a witness at Ma-a police sub-station resulting to the arrest of the three.
The suspects are now detained at the Talomo Police Station while the recovered weapons were endorsed to the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory and will be used as evidence against the suspects in court. (Sun.Star Davao)
