Woman charged anew for drugs-A A +A

A WOMAN who previously served six years in jail for selling drugs was charged anew before the City Prosecutor's Office of Davao after she was arrested in a buy-bust operation at Arroyo Compound in Barangay Matina Crossing, Davao City Tuesday.
Facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is Anamie Miles Matuguina Juntilla, 48. Also arrested and charged is Rosalie Manib Literal, 35 of SIR, New Matina Phase 1.
The operation was launched by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
PDEA agents arrested Juntilla she handed one pack containing around four grams of shabu worth P40,000 to an agent. Literal was also arrested for conspiring with Juntilla.
Rosales, in an e-mailed statement to Sun.Star Davao, said they have been monitoring Juntilla for a month.
"Juntilla was maintaining a drug den in her area and she was previously charged for violation of RA 6425 and served her sentence last 2001 to 2007," said Rosales.
The two are now detained at the Davao City Police Office detention facility while the confiscated drugs were submitted to the PDEA laboratory for examination and will be later used as evidence against the suspects. (Ruji Peter S. Abat/Sun.Star Davao)
