BIFFs behead 1, execute another-A A +A

KIDAPAWAN CITY -- Two civilians, who were allegedly held hostage by members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF), were killed at 9:00 p.m. Monday in the province of Cotabato.
The victims were identified as Ricarte Dionio Jr., 31, married, and Erwin Vinluan, 22, single. Both were residents of Barangay Salunayan, Midsayap.
Midsayap Police Station chief Reinante Delos Santos said the two were tending to their fields around 8 a.m. Monday when the BIFF men saw them and used them in their retreat from pursuing military and police personnel.
They were brought by the BIFF to Barangay Malingao, Midsayap, and killed by nightfall.
Ricarte Dionio was beheaded by the rebels while Vinluan's body was riddled with bullets from the firearms of the rebels.
At 6:20 a.m. on September 24, the corpses of the victims were found beside the rice fields at Barangay Malingao, Midsayap by the 40th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army and Civilian Volunteer Organization. (Edgar Fuerzas)
