Helper arrested for stealing from employer-A A +A

POLICE are yet to file charges before the City Prosecutor’s Office of Davao against a housemaid for allegedly stealing.
The suspect was identified as Jovie Adja Ising, 35, who hails from Malita town in Davao del Sur, and is a stay-in resident of Pineapple Street, Sto. Domingo II Village, Pampanga in Davao City.
Records from the Sasa Police Station showed that the suspect was endorsed to the said station at 10 p.m. of September 27 following the complaint of his employer -- Armando Tubang.
The Sasa police said the suspect left and went to the neighboring house of her employer to take a nap. Ising returned to the house only one hour after she took a nap at the neighbor around 1:30 p.m.
However, according to Ising, when she returned to the house, she learned that the back door was already opened and was believed to be destroyed by unidentified culprits. She added that the master bedroom was already opened when she went inside the house.
According to the victim, around P43,000 cash and assorted jewelry worth P50,000 were missing.
But the victim was not convinced with the statements of the housemaid thus, he and his family conducted their search at the room of the suspect around 9:40 p.m., wherein the victim recovered one gold bracelet worth P8,000 which belonged to his wife.
The victim said the gold bracelet found in the room of their housemaid was the first item missing in their house. He added that Ising earlier made a reason that unidentified culprits broke into the house.
The suspect is temporarily detained at Sasa Police Station pending filing of appropriate charges in court.
Police added that the suspect will be charged with qualified theft for stealing valuables from her employer. (Ivy C. Tejano)
