“INGAT siya,” Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte to carnap syndicate leader Ryan "Baktin" Yu, who reportedly posted a P1.4-million bail bond before the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 27 in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur, on September 11.
He reminded Yu of the reward offered by Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
Duterte offered a P5 million reward for the head of Yu placed in a cooler filled with ice, P2 million to anyone who could bring Yu alive, and P4 million if he is brought dead.
“Naa bayay patong imong ulo. Naay gadumot sa imo diri sa Davao. Tago’g balik ug dili ka gusto ipresenta imong ulo (You have a reward on your head. Someone holds a grudge against you in the region. Hide again if you do not want to give up your head),” Duterte said, but he was quick to add that Yu must face all the charges filed against him in court.
RTC Branch 27 Judge Edwin Malazarte ordered Yu’s release after he posted a total of P1,440,000 through his bondsman Ricardo Yu.
Yu also issued a written undertaking, which was approved by Malazarte, swearing to present himself in court whenever required but the trial can proceed even in his absence. He also vowed to surrender himself during the execution of the final judgment.
RTC Branch 16 Davao City Judge Emmanuel Carpio issued warrants of arrest against him for eight counts of carnapping dated July 16.
The Davao City Police Office filed six charges of carnapping against Yu on November 20, 2012 based on the complaints of Filmore Escobal, Joselito Marces, Napoleon Saliog Jr., Eliazar Macabinlar, Ibrahim Buog, and Carlo Asturias.
Two private complainants identified as Delilah Galgala and Aldrich Palados filed their separate complaints before the year ended.
