FOR its first 100 days, the Davao City Council's landmark legislation is the 1 a.m. liquor ban.
The amended 1 a.m. liquor ban was proposed by Councilor Bonifacio Militar.
It prohibits the serving and selling of liquor and drinking of intoxicating drinks along city streets, parking areas and uninhabited places from 1 a.m. to 8 a.m.
The amendment was the personal preference of no less than Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte to prevent crimes committed by minors during night time.
Speaking during the Pulong-pulong ni Pulong (PPP) on Tuesday, Councilor Tomas Monteverde IV, majority floor leader, said the amended liquor ban is among the 34 ordinances approved during the first 100 days of the City Council.
He also said a total of 202 resolutions were also passed by members of the council during the same duration.
Monteverde also said among the ordinances approved was the proposed memorandum of agreement between Department of Agriculture and City Government of Davao for the concreting of farm-to-market roads in three barangays in the city.
