THE committee on finance, ways and means of the 17th Davao City Council has deliberated the City Government’s annual budget for nine departments during the series of committee hearings last week.
"We are done with nine offices, but the (City) Building Office as one of the generating offices has to come back and require them to bring the records for some clarifications in aid of legislation," Councilor Danilo Dayanghirang, committee chair, said in a text message.
The committee set the series of committee hearings, which started last Monday, October 21.
The proposed total appropriations for next year is pegged at P5,165,430,052, up by 13 percent or P597.2 million as compared to the 2013 budget of P4,568,189,122.
"We are half way of committee hearing since last Monday to Friday morning and afternoon sessions," Dayanghirang said.
He said 80 percent of the total budget goes to general fund proper, with an allocation of P4,147,933,539.
Other appropriations, he said go to economic enterprises (P103,824,815) and development fund (P913,671,698).
Dayanghirang said they are working double time on the committee hearing and aims to end by first week of December.
However, Dayanghirang said there will be no committee hearing this week. "Will resume after All Souls Day," he said.
