TEN violators of city ordinances and those involved in illegal drug activity and petty crime were endorsed to Davao City Police Office (DCPO) during the observance of the All Saints and All Souls Day on November 1 and 2.
Records from the DCPO's Operations Division showed those who were endorsed to the police were found violating the city's anti-smoking and liquor ban ordinances. A man was also arrested after he was found in possession of an illegal drug.
Another man, identified only as Ritchie, who was allegedly involved in a mauling incident due to a misunderstanding at Wireless Cemetery in Bankerohan on Friday, is also being hunted by the police.
In two separate incidents, Jose Aparece Cabiles, 44, of Buhangin and Jenny Jenisan Torregosa, 34, from Panabo City were reprimanded by the police after they were caught smoking at the Bunawan Public Cemetery on Friday.
Meanwhile, personnel of the San Pedro police and Mobile Patrol Group (MPG) confiscated a Nature Spring bottle containing alcohol beverages from Arnold Suyat Encabo and Allan Suyat Encabo, both residents of Matina.
The Encabos were caught drinking inside the Forest Lake Memorial Garden in Madapo, Davao City at around 3:30 p.m. also on Friday.
At 12 a.m. on November 2, the San Pedro police arrested Joseph Maspang Taranza, 18, of Barangay 76-A for possession of illegal drugs. He was arrested before he was able to enter the San Pedro Memorial Park.
Recovered from the possession of Taranza were one rolled newspapers containing dried marijuana leaves, lighter, and one tooter. The suspect is now detained at the San Pedro police station.
At 4 p.m. personnel of the MPG issued a citation ticket and endorsed to San Pedro police two young men and three adults for smoking in front of a school on C.M. Recto Street.
DCPO director Senior Superintendent Vincent D. Danao Jr. said that apart from those incidents, the observance of the All Saint's and All Souls Day in Davao City was generally peaceful.
Danao said that the people were very cooperative this year in terms of following the rules.
