DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) Director Vicente D. Danao Jr. relieved on Wednesday the Calinan Police Station chief from his post for alleged negligence of duty.

Danao said he sacked Chief Inspector Aldrin Juaniza after he failed to submit the station's investigation report, which was earlier asked by the DCPO's Investigation and Detection Management Branch (IDMB).

"He was relieved for two reasons. One, he didn't submit their evaluation report, second, mahina ang crime solution in their area of responsibility. If you are a station commander handling incident report, kailangan abtik ka, report mo agad. Pero hindi (niya naireport kaagad)," Danao said.

Danao said his decision was also in line with his and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte's earlier warning against indolent police officers.

The mayor warned the policemen on Sunday to shape up and improve their performance, or else they will bid farewell.

"Nagbigay na akong ng warning. Nagwarning na rin si mayor last Sunday na ayaw niya sa mga tamad... so he (Juaniza) has to be relieved from his post and from the DCPO office effective today (Wednesday)," Danao said.

Danao warned anew all his men, saying Juaniza's relief is just the start of more changes to come.

He said he was not joking when he earlier said that he will remove those lazy policemen.

"I'm warning you... sa lahat ng mga pulis dito (Davao City) you need to do your job as peacemakers. You have to cooperate. Sabi ko nga diba, you shape up or we break-up. So dili magtinapulan para dili mo maparehas sa nahitabo karon (Don't be lazy so you won't suffer the consequence just like what transpired today)," Danao said.

Juaniza, who assumed his post and replaced Senior Inspector Jacy Jay Francia on June 15 this year, was replaced by Calinan police deputy chief Senior Inspector Achelles Barguio.

When asked where Juaniza will be assigned, Danao said he will have to receive directive from the Police Regional Office-Davao Director Wency Pascual.

He added that the officer will not be re-assigned in the city. (ICT)
