DAVAO City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte signed on Monday a recommendation granting productivity enhancement incentive (PEI), commonly known as Christmas bonus, to all employees of the City Government.
The bonus will be released anytime from December 16 to 24. But City Government employees will receive a "reduced" Christmas bonus as compared to the previous years.
"Everybody will have a bonus but I discourage Christmas parties," Duterte said.
He earlier announced that the "reduced" bonus will be one of City Government's way of sympathizing with the victims of Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).
Based on a copy of a resolution of the local finance committee signed by Duterte, plantilla personnel will receive P10,000 each, while consultants and job order/contract of service will get P5,000 each.
Further, grant-in-aid day care workers, barangay health workers, barangay nutrition scholars and auxiliary personnel will receive P2,000 each.
The local finance committee included them for this year's distribution of bonuses since "they have also contributed to the accomplishment of city's goals."
"Good thing to do is to really bring the money to your family and spare a little amount for the victims if you feel for them," Duterte said.
The resolution read that the incentives will be sourced out from the 2013 General Fund and Special Education Fund.
The bonus will be released earlier than December 16 but not later than December 24, according to the local finance committee.
Last year, at least P41.9 million was allocated for Christmas bonuses of 2,795 plantilla personnel with P15,000 each, and another P131.7 million for the social amelioration of job orders and auxiliary workers with P10,000 and P5,000 each, respectively. (ANC)
